My Journey

I began meditating almost forty years ago. Over the years I’ve studied with teachers such as Richard Moss and Ram Dass, and explored shamanic practice with Jonathan Horowitz and Arwyn Dreamwalker. Alongside these spiritual studies, I trained in Transpersonal Psychology with Barbara Somers and Ian Gordon-Brown, deepening my understanding of the human psyche and its capacity for transformation.

For a time, I lived in a Zen temple, immersing myself in intensive meditation and mindful movement — a practice known as Zen Dance. Although I later chose a different path, the discipline and stillness of that time continue to inform everything I do.

Returning to the UK, I trained as a counsellor and body therapist, working with the NSPCC to support adult survivors of childhood abuse before establishing my own private practice. I also turned my attention to the land, helping to restore a 36-acre clear-felled site by planting thousands of native trees and gradually nurturing it into a thriving woodland. That work of renewal, patient, physical, and deeply connected to the cycles of growth and decay, continues to shape my understanding of healing and resilience.

In 2015, I began my training as a Mindfulness Teacher, training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and developed courses in Mindfulness in Nature and Shinrin Yoku. My studies and practice are ongoing, weaving together the contemplative, the psychological, and the embodied, the meeting place of presence, insight, and action.

Today, my work continues to evolve through the integration of mindfulness, counselling, bodywork, and creative practice. Whether in the therapy room, on a woodland path, or through art and movement, my intention is the same — to offer a grounded, compassionate space where awareness and transformation can unfold naturally.
